The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) cited court documents Wednesday to report that a silicon valley chip startup sued Xu Zhijun, vice chairman of China Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., for alleged involvement in stealing the company's business secrets.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company, CNEX Labs Inc, claims that Huawei has been involved in stealing the company's solid-state hard disk computer storage technology for many years. The case is scheduled to open on June 3 in the Eastern District Federal Court of Texas.
Huawei and CNEX did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
CNEX is developing technology to improve the performance of data center solid-state drives. The company has been in dispute with Huawei since 2017.
CNEX accused Huawei of illegally acquiring the technology of the startup through a professor at a Chinese University who participated in a research project.
